Can Portable Air Conditioners Work In Computer Server
Rooms ? this is a very common question that we get asked
all the time because server rooms are a fairly new thing
that most older builders did not design there heating a
cooling loads for when the built the building
We do not recommend that
you put a residential Portable Air Conditioners
into a server room....
We have sold portable A/C unit in the
past for small server rooms, and we found it to be a
mistake
-Residential Portable A/c unit are not designed to run
24/7 for several years, you will lose your Freon charge
after a year or two
-Most Server Rooms are in the middle of a building w/
out windows, so you would need to exhaust the hot air in
the duct work or plenum, because the hose is only 5
feet long its not long enough for the a unit on the
floor to reach the he ceiling....You would either need to raise the unit off the
floor or get an larger hose...We don't recommend an
longer hose because these units are designed with the
hoses included. You may have read it else ware that you
can put on any additional hoses will cause the
compressor to shut down from back pressure, and cause
the output air to be warm. This will diminish the
efficiency of the unit.
-The real only safe bet is to contact a company
who sells Commercial Portable Air Conditioners
